TGMA: Where is the Representation for Northern-Based Artists?
To the organizers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA),
We are disappointed, but not surprised, to see that once again, no Northern-based artists have been nominated for this year’s awards. This consistent snubbing of talented artists from the Northern region is not only disheartening but also raises serious questions about the credibility and fairness of the TGMA nomination process.
Transparency Needed
We demand that you make your nomination criteria clear and transparent to all artists, including those from the Northern region. What are the specific requirements for eligibility? How are nominations reviewed and selected?
Stop the Marginalization
It’s time to stop making Northern-based artists feel like they’re not good enough to be recognized. We know that’s not true! The North is home to incredibly talented musicians who deserve equal opportunities and recognition.

We urge you to take immediate action to address this issue:
1. Publish clear nomination criteria
2. Increase representation from the Northern region
3. Provide feedback to artists who submit their work
